Why Conferences & Functions at Perricoota Vines Lakehouse Are In Such High Demand

Is there anything better than the sound of crackling fire? The warmth it generates, the feeling in the air, the light scent of burning wood. People tend to be drawn to it and it sets the perfect atmosphere for small intimate group workshops, winter health retreats and private functions. The bonus of 360 degree views of the lush green gardens and vineyards over the lake makes the flames in the fire even more appealing.

Perricoota Vines is famous for its lakeside function and conference room, where thousands of people choose to host their special events at different times of the year. When we planned the opening of the room with bar and conference facilities, we had no idea how successful it would be.  People tend to love it because it can cater for small groups or larger groups of 100 people in a theatre style layout. With views to the vineyard and lake, it tends to be the perfect place to brainstorm (the fresh air helps!) And the fact that there's onsite accommodation for delegates to relax in afterwards, puts a luxurious spin on the idea of going away for work.

We've found our health retreats on site have become enormously popular due to the tranquil setting, fresh air and the convenience of on site parking, a supportive function co-ordinator while relaxation becomes a priority.

People who come to Perricoota Vines once tend to come back regularly, for years after. Some of our most loyal guests now choose to have their private functions in the Lake house. We've hosted wakes and celebrations of life after touching family funerals. We've also hosted birthday functions, wedding vow renewal ceremonies and parties and even cooking classes!

Wholesome, home cooked meals tend to add to the feeling of country hospitality during events (as seen in the gallery below). We'd love to hear from you if you're from out of town or a local thinking of having an event in the Echuca Moama area. It's what we do best and its surprising affordable.

Check out our  functions page  for all the deets.

"We're all going on a summer holiday...." we all remember the Griswalds from National Lampoons on Vacation. Packing the kids in the car and heading off for the annual getaway.

Family holidays are often thought of as raucous adventures with Mum and Dad arguing over the map, getting lost en route the caravan park while Tommy and Sally in the back seat argue and bicker until their headphones go on to avoid car sickness.

At Perricoota Vines Retreat, we offer the "Unpack & Relax" experience where you drive in, stretch as you hop out of the family car and instantly relax.

You've just spent a few hours on the road playing "eye spy" while trying to divert the headache-inducing refrain "Are we there yet?"

You check in at Perricoota Vines and receive directions to the villa . And all of a sudden as you pull into your private, undercover park... you start to understand why so many people have insisted you stay here.

The willows tickling the lake outside the villa, the magnificent gardens tended by hand by the owners that create shadow-rich enclaves for the many guests, the immaculately clean villas where you can unwind in peace. The list goes on.

As the kids jump out of the car, they don't even go inside, running to the reception to grab their complimentary tennis racquets for a hit on the court. They ask for their swimming togs so they can go for a dip in one of the two resort pools afterward.

Grab some marshmallows and a warm glass of red and take the kids to the new fire pit situated under the gums near the resort pools. The pit was donated generously by Nullarbor Sustainable Timber

The Foundry Arts Space opened recently, filling a much needed gap in Echuca for a contemporary art gallery and community space.

Founded by EMAI, the space exhibits work as part of group or solo shows and holds cultural workshops.

It's in a great location, nestled in the Port of Echuca's historical precinct, close by to cafes, bars, bookshops and the paddlesteamers on The Esplanade. So drop in or take a special visit into town to check it out. The friendly group of volunteers from Echuca Moama Arts Initiative have a Facebook page  and website which they keep up to date with current shows, workshops and opening hours.

Highly recommended for those who fancy eclectic pieces executed thoughtfully. An array of very talented artists exhibit here and sell their work.

Salivating already? We forgive you.

If you're looking for an entire menu of sumptuous, beautifully crafted dishes and fine wines, we can highly recommend The Mill  in Echuca. Staying in a villa at Perricoota Vines Retreat  obviously includes your own fully self-contained kitchen for cosy nights in cooking. But there's nothing like a night out at one of Echuca/Moama's finest restaurants before coming back to your private villa and spa.

The beautiful thing about The Mill is that the atmosphere is incomparable with the bricks and chandeliers, the service is impeccable, the dishes are works of art, but it's affordable and there's a lovely casual vibe that allows you to relax into a long night out with your partner or friends without feeling the stuffiness that usually comes with high class dining.

From their website:

In the heart of Echuca ,  this iconic landmark offers the perfect, unique and exclusive restaurant to enjoy beautiful dining with family and friends… The old brick five storey former flour mill built in 1881 bestows the most sensational atmosphere to set the scene for any day or evening! With its timberwork and it’s brickwork is a gorgeous old utilitarian building is full of charm, with plenty of history and makes the perfect setting for enjoying a glass or two of wine.

As we begin to introduce wellness options at Perricoota Vines with on site yoga classes and  in room healing massage with Mi-Yoga's Ali Connelly, we thought it an opportune time to mention a sweet and very nourishing little find just over the bridge from us.

The Sweet Meadow is a brand new plant based, vegan health bar that opened in October 2016.  Created by the ever so lovely, ever so clever, Kyabram born Aishe Besim , The Sweet Meadow is based on the core truth that plant-based food is medicine.

"Food should not been seen as something to just quickly eat to keep hunger at bay, but instead as something that can nourish and protect us, and help us get the best out of every day"   she says.

This is no pop up experimental venture, rather a dedicated lifestyle experience catering to the increasingly popular philosophy of conscious living. Aishe's vision is to build a healthier community through awareness around the food we eat, our health and living sustainably.  And she sees it through to the very last detail.

It's not just the beautifully presented (and hotdamn tasty) plant based meals and beverages (Aishe was the first to bring Melbourne's favourite, All Press Coffee to the region - a must try, and is one of the first in town to serve cold pressed juices), its the entire cafe experience. The detail Aishe has put into the establishment - from the hand crafted artistan ceramics and organic aloe vera and teas for sale on the far right shelves, to the gorgeous, beaming staff she's hired to serve, to the pastel pink walls and flourish of native flowers that embrace you on arrival, and even the design and health-conscious magazines she presents on the window sills. There is not one detail that isn't beautifully conceived and executed at The Sweet Meadow. Even the sustainable take away boxes and petite pink stickers that hold them together for those on the run hint at a particularly thoughtful, caring and wholistic charm.

For those who prefer your average everyday serve of dairy and meat, we would still recommend that you try this purely vegan experience. Their soy or coconut tumeric lattes are delectable to the tastebuds - as is their hearty, smashed avocado toast served with lemon, their brown rice sushi rolls, the grain free granola and baked donuts with dehydrated berries.

The Sweet Meadow puts pay to Jamison Scala's philosophy, “With veganism you give nothing up. You just stop taking that which is not yours.”  The food here is ablush with flavour, substance and screams nourishment without compromising on taste.

The eatery is situated near the Bridge Hotel in the midst of the Port precinct; a lovely spot to drop into when strolling near the Wharf and Esplanade. The public garden walkway beside the cafe gleams with morning and afternoon sunlight through a weeping willow tree and is the perfect quiet corner for a casual outdoor experience, along with the vintage-inspired seating area at the front.

We highly recommend treating yourself to The Sweet Meadow. Join them on social media and check out their highly educational website.
